The University of Information and Communication Technology organizes a workshop about writing the curriculum vitae CV in a professional way.
The Presidency of the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), in cooperation with the organization of Horizon Vision for Development, organized a professional curriculum vitae CV writing workshop.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Ahmed Al-Bizouni, Consultant at Horizon Vision for university students, and specifically for the students who are going to graduate. The curriculum vitae CV writing mechanism is well-defined and helps the graduate students to prepare their CVs in a professional way when they want to apply for a job. It also gives the graduate students a significant advantage over other applicants.
The intensive workshop provided much of the information for the needs of the graduate students to write a CV. A well-organized CV is the first effective impression of the graduate student and will greatly improve their opportunities for interviewing and then getting the job.
The workshop was attended by the assistant president of the University Scientific Affairs Dr. Jin Jalil Atefian and a number of professors as well as students of Business Informatics college.
A student from The University of Information and Communication Technology obtains 12th place at the Beirut Marathon
The University of Information and Communication Technology ranked 12th in the Beirut International Marathon.
The student of business information college Hassanein Zia Badr participated in the race of 8 km running. Hassanein ranked 12 out of more than 60 thousand participants who came from different countries to participate in the international marathon in Lebanon.
This participation in the Marathon was ordered by the Department of Student Activities at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Iraqi Universities. The student activities department at The University of Information and Communication Technology nominated the student Hassanein Zia and with the participation of Dr. Imad Kazem and the lecturer Yasser Mohammed in the marathon to form a team representing the university and Iraq.
This marathon is an international sports event. The University of Information and Communication Technology has won three participation medals.
Teacher participation from UOITC in the fifth e-learning forum
Tamara Zuhair Fadel of the University of Information Technology and Communications participated with a research on The Management of the Interactive Electronic Classroom at the fifth e-learning forum held by the University of Baghdad. The aim of this research is to describe the global approach in world-class universities and to introduce the idea of classroom and laboratory management to suit the development and technology through the Classroom Management program, which gives the student a quick, and easy communication between student and professor. In addition to other advantages that serve the nature of the work of the interactive class effectively and easily and according to what is found in the laboratories of the world's modern universities. The researcher has received a certificate of appreciation as well as shield of the fifth e-learning forum. It is worth mentioning that this forum held by the University of Baghdad for the period from 14 to 15 November 2017 and was attended by a number of researchers in Iraqi universities and a number of ministries and companies interested in technology issues in general and electronic education in particular. The President of the University of Baghdad praised these efforts and praised the experiences presented in the application of e-learning technology and called for continuity in the application of e-learning experiences of university professors to serve the education and science and then serve our beloved Iraq.

The University of Information and Communication Technology and in cooperation with the Red Crescent Society / Baghdad branch held a workshop on the subject of first aid.
The workshop, which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Business Information and a number of university professors and students, was about the first aid, which must be known to everyone in order to save the lives of any infected or wounded person.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Haidar Ahmed Jassim, who is a trainer at the first aid unit of the Red Crescent Society, Baghdad Branch. Mr. Haidar used the theoretical and practical method during the lecture, in addition, He used clear methods and tools to clarify the process of first aid in case of injury happened.
The subjects of the workshop were about the cases that required first aid. Then the workshop addressed the topic of airway obstruction for adults, young children, and infants through practical training with the help of university students who showed their interaction with the subject. Furthermore, addressing the subjects of stress, psychological fatigue, shock and difficulty of breath that may be happened to some people.
The workshop also focused on answering students' questions about health issues such as epilepsy, fractures, and burns. The trainer talked about common mistakes that are being made to treat those who are suffering from these accidents and diseases.
The workshop will be followed by additional training courses for teams of university students who will be trained on the subject of first aid by trainers of Red Crescent Society Baghdad Branch.
The directors of the rehabilitation and employment departments at Iraqi universities discuss topics related to students and graduates
The Director of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Department at the University of Information and Communication Technology, Ms. Afrah Ibrahim Abdul-Ahad participated in an online meeting held under the directing of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up.
The meeting was held for directors of rehabilitation and employment departments at Iraqi universities and was held through the ZOOM program to discuss the following issues
1- The annual plan for 2018 and how to write and implement it.
2- The most important problems that are facing the work of rehabilitation and employment departments at Iraqi universities.
3- The importance of participation in local and international workshops.
4- Discuss the annual evaluation and how to fill out forms, and determine the efficiency of lecturers in the basic workshops and specialization which organized by the University
The online meeting, which was held through the ZOOM program, was managed by Dr. Omar Al-Ashari who is director of the follow-up department of rehabilitation, recruitment, and follow-up in Iraqi universities.
The presidency of the University Discussed the strategic Plan of the next ten years
The UOITC president assistant for scientific affairs the Dr. Jane J. Stephan met with the heads of departments and administrative staff at the university to discuss the strategic plan.
The participants discussed the initial preparations for the strategic plan of the university during the next ten years, in addition to the academic developments in the departments of preliminary and higher studies at the College of Business Informatics and the College of Engineering, and discussing the new structure of the university which was recently adopted.
Stephan focused on the importance of complying with the necessary directives and observations regarding the completion of the strategic plan of the University and completing its details at a later meeting in order to obtain the necessary approvals for approving it.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Dean of the Business Informatics College for Administrative Affairs and the Directors of the departments (studies and planning, quality assurance, scholarships and relations, finance, scientific affairs, student affairs and registration).
The Presidency of University of Information Technology and Communications Convened Meeting about Developing University Website
The President of UOITC the Prof. Dr. Abbas M. Al-Bakry met with the team of the university's website and discussed the ways of developing it.
The meeting, which was attended by the scientific assistant of the university president, the dean of the Business Informatics College and a number of officials of the scientific departments and technicians at the university, discussed the mechanism of developing the website of the university, its colleges and departments.
The meeting also discussed updating the information and data of the website through the publication of the news and events of the university in Arabic and English languages at the same time, in addition to publishing the news and data of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting also dealt with the development of the website by publishing the researches of the lecturers in the website of the scientific journal and the mechanism of upgrading the site in the media and scientifically as in the international universities.
College of Engineering in UOITC Welcomes Its New Students
College of Engineering in UOITC organized a welcoming seminar to welcome its new students (the first stage) for the 2017-2018 academic year. The welcoming symposium addressed some educational and scientific directives introduced the educational curricula, the times of theoretical and practical lectures in private laboratories to the new students in the college as well as a set of rules and laws that must be observed by students at this stage.
The deputy dean of the college of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sinan A. Naji talked to the new students and congratulated them in the beginning of a new stage in their life in higher education with the words of encouragement and wished to prove their success and excellence in the scientific field. Whereas the college of Engineering and its two departments: Computer Communications Engineering department and Media Technology Engineering are a new scientific branches developed based on the needs of the labor market. It is worth mentioning that this introductory meeting, which was attended by the heads of the scientific departments and all the faculty members of the college of Engineering, is very important for the student as it is considered as an important factor in the success of the educational process and for the teaching staff regarding to their experience and specialization as well as building a strong relationship between the faculty at the college of Engineering and its new students.
