The participation of one of UOITC teachers in the membership of the Council for Improving the Quality of Engineering Education in Iraq 
 A member of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications participated in the ceremony to launch national standards for the adoption of engineering education programs in Iraq. The announcement came under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the deputies and heads of Iraqi universities and specialists in the field of engineering where the step of the supervisory and scientific evaluation of the formation of the Council for the improvement of the quality of engineering education in Iraq, which was one of its members is Dr. Ahmed Abdul Saheb Hashim, Faculty of Engineering, University of Information Technology and Communications. This Council seeks to be a central reference in the field of quality assurance procedures and academic accreditation of engineering education programs in Iraq, and enable engineering colleges in Iraqi universities to implement plans to improve the quality of education in accordance with international standards and access to academic accreditation. Al-Issa said in a speech that the program accreditation criteria are included in all details of the educational process in order to improve its quality from the perspective of strategic management and overall quality, which is considered the cornerstone in the quality of educational institutions, indicating that the importance of program accreditation lies in the quality of graduates and the installation of accreditation badge in the graduation certificate. He added that the national standards for the adoption of engineering education programs is the first of its kind in Iraq, noting that this achievement came as a culmination of the continuous effort of the Council to improve the quality of engineering education in Iraq after the experience of many countries under the umbrella of the Washington agreement such as the United States and the United Kingdom , which is sponsored by the Global Engineering Alliance to enable national accreditation councils to gain international recognition for accreditation within the national geographic framework through the harmonization of approved standards. Dr. Nabil Al-Araji, Chairman of the Supervisory and Scientific Evaluation Organization, expressed his hope that the quality improvement councils will announce the other programs and their national standards with a map of their own, leading to the process of comprehensive integration in the application of national quality standards. In this context, the members of the Council for the Improvement of the Quality of Engineering Education in Iraq reviewed the map of the details that produced those criteria and the philosophy of choice that was adopted.
